5 Tips For Executing The Throwing Events
- Use simple movements at the start of the throw
- Build up speed gradually, slow and correct is better than fast and wrong
- Separation of the hips and upper body is critical in the power position
- Maximum acceleration is required from the power position to the delivery
- Execute the recovery phase, focus on legal throws

- Develop glide technique with drills
- Improve release mechanics with stand throws
- Break the throw up into parts with and without releases
- Train heavy and light implements (within 10% of competition weight)
- Focus on technique at practice
- Stay in the ring all the time
